Heritage Cars

Restorations and Replicas

There's a vibrant community rightly proud of their heritage cars.  I'm not sure where they started.  I recall Keith Barber, the Long Eaton promoter promulgating the idea of a Stock Car Museum and being behind a Harold Bosworth "Bozzy" replica in the Hot Stox formula.  Nevertheless from small beginnings there are cars appearing appearing on a regular basis.

On a static display I think they are a fantastic achievements and stir happy memories.  I not so enthusiastic about on track events, races being demonstration or exhibition races.  They don't recreate the excitement and atmosphere of the past and don't hold any interest for me.  I'd imagine for the constructors, participants and their family and friends thay are proud moments.  I don't mean to demean their achievements but they cars have had their racing days, the sport is about the cars and drivers of today.

OK it's a bit rich to say this on a site that harks back decades of the sport.
