Skegness 1987 BSCDA Championship

Update in the Skegness Album.

A few pictures from the 1987 BSCDA - British Drivers Championship. Victor on the day was John Lund 53 and the day confirmed to me that he was finally on his was to having a great season. Little did I know at the time it would be the start of a dominant era.

The 1 & Only

Given that he was (is) the legend of BriSCA F1 I thought that only having 5 images in his album was a sleight on the Stuart Smith name. So I’ve added a further 8 pictures, mainly from the early 70s at Aycliffe including one in the Doug Cronshaw car that Stu sold to his nemesis – Dave Chisholm.

Couple of things to look out for:

1] The rather dubious perm shown on the semi final parade at Northampton.

2] The shirt and tie under the overalls for the world final of 86 at Coventry.

1989 World Championship Semi Final

Have just added some images from the 1989 WC Semi Final that took place at Northampton. Most pictures are from the presentation / parade lap including both of the Wainmans.

Not 100% on the year though fairly sure that Ray Tyldesley took the semi final victory and went on to become world champion at Coventry later in the year. Happy to be corrected on that point .

I’ve spent most of the Christmas break moving yvonnescards.co.uk over to digital red. While messing around with a navigation bar I’ve had to re-register for a site so have taken the opportunity to build a nav bar for stockcarGOLD. It’s not what I intended but never mind I need a quick fix and get value for the flash vortex website.

The net result is that I’ll declare this site officially launched now it has some navigation!
